We take an instinctive approach to the design and build process. Using traditional materials paired with a range of craftsmen/trade techniques while implementing new and old production methods provides the frame for most of our work. Cousins is rooted in The Bauhaus school but also greatly influenced by minimalist and mid-century modern design, classic Americana and industry, and American and Japanese woodwork. We aim to execute our process in every piece of furniture or project we design and build. Whatever the work may be, a purposeful design and timeless structured piece is the goal.

CFO will take a project from concept to finish product. each piece of furniture and project is designed and constructed by hand in our shop. The majority of our work is made to order. This lets us to work closely with our client. By bringing them into the process we can offer options and customizations to suit their needs. All our materials are locally sourced. We look to local sawmills for our wood and mainly work in what is local in our area. Most furniture is available in all domestic woods but exotic lumber can be sourced if necessary. Our metal supplies are made in USA or Canada, and our concrete is sourced from a local masonry supply which allows us to choose our sand and aggregates to customize mixes for different uses.

All our pieces can be customized. They represent a concept and each piece can be made into something different. Sizes, materials, and usages can all be tailored to the client.
